To avoid any more rumors we have to announce that Tobias Wicke and wethepeople parted ways.

Tobias was on the team for years and besides our relationship riding wise we became good friends. It is sad to part ways with such a creative rider and all over great guy. We wish Tobias all the best for his further career.

Wicke says:
“After 8 years in the wethepeople family, a time that has not only opened many doors for me, but that has also formed me a lot because of the close collaboration, I am sad for the most part. Also, because I am now forced to make a statement about it all, before the news make themselves independent.

You cannot imagine how I felt after getting a call from a friend telling me that it says on the internet I am apparently “off wethepeople”. It would have been nice to be informed in a different way, from the people involved and not through a news post on a website.

At first I was pretty shocked, although it was clear for me after my last conversation with WTP, that there will be changes in the future, but none like the ones made public now, where discussed. Above all I have a very good and trustful relationship to all my sponsors and I see them more as partners and not like sponsors that can be replaced in a blink of an eye. For me this is a absolutely new situation, because loyalty and honesty play a big role in my life.

Some people can maybe understand where I am coming from and put themselves in my place. Sorry to have no better news for you today, but I am positive, there will be some in the near future.”
